TRM Lady Tigers beat WSN Lady Eagles

On Tuesday, the T.R. Miller Lady Tiger volleyball took a 3-0 win over W.S. Neal and the JV team took a 2-0 win over the Lady Eagles.
With the win, T.R. Miller JV improved to 4-1 and the varsity to 7-1 while W.S. Neal dropped to 1-4 and 3-4 overall. It was the seventh straight win for the Lady Tigers of Miller.
In JV action, the Lady Tigers took game one 25-13 and game two 25-19.
T.R. Miller took a 6-1 lead over the Eagles and then held a 10-5 lead.
W.S. Neal cut the lead to 12-9, but the Lady Tigers took an 18-10 lead and a 20-11 lead en route to the 25-13 win.
Haley Brown and Leah Brundidge each had five service points to lead in the win. Alia Fountain led the Lady Eagles with two.
In game two, T.R. Miller led 6-3 before W.S. Neal took a 13-10 lead after five straight service points from Fountain.
Leah Brundidge then put the Lady Tigers up 15-13 and Amber Nelson reeled off seven straight service points and three aces to give T.R. Miller a 25-19 win.
In varsity action, T.R. Miller beat W.S. Neal 25-18 in game one, 25-15 in game two, and 25-18 in game three.
The win was the Tiger's seventh straight win and pushed them to 7-1 on the season.
W.S. Neal head coach Britney Shelly said that her team struggled with serving in the loss.
In game one, a tight game was played until the Lady Tigers built a 16-12 lead. From there, the Lady Tigers took a 23-18 lead and added two more points from Taylor Guthrie to claim the 25-18 win.
Guthrie led with five service points for the Lady Tigers and Brandy Deese led with two service points.
In game two, Leigh Margaret Bostic led with four service points for the Lady Tigers and Janel McCorvey had three kills as T.R. Miller built an 16-7 lead behind Bostic and held a 22-11 lead en route to the 25-15 win.
In game three, Elizabeth Nelson led Miller with six straight service points and six aces as Miller built a 17-9 lead and extended it to 20-9 before Casey Wilson brought the Lady Eagles back.
Wilson had five straight service points and two aces to close the game to 21-15, but T.R. Miller held on for the 25-18 win.
The teams will be back in action on Monday when they are in a tri-match with Jackson. Miller will play Neal at 4 p.m. Jackson at 5 p.m. and Neal and Jackson at 6 p.m.
