Mrs. Annie Ethel Tardido Neary, 91, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at her daughter's residence after a brief illness. She was a native of Sunderland, England, and a former resident of Aylesbury, England before moving to Brewton three years ago. She was a homemaker and of the Roman Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest John Neary; a granddaughter, Vivian Chavers; a grandson, Little Joe Chavers; and three sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Denise (Joe) Chavers of Brewton; a sister, Doris Duell of Sunderland, England; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Father Adrian Cook officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
