Banks: Beware of phony calls

Debit card holders beware: a computer-generated message may cause you serious financial difficulties if you comply with requests concerning your debit card.
Hardee said the calls request the cardholder enter their debit card information by using the telephone keypad.
Hardee said no banking institution uses this method to renew any kind of cards issued by the bank.
Hardee said banks have all customer information on file, including debit card expiration details.
Bank scams like this are becoming more and more common, Hardee said.
BankTrust customers aren't the only ones being hit with this new scam.
Bank of Brewton has also had some calls from customers who have received some calls.
According to Nall there are some rules to follow.
