Th United Fund of Brewton and East Brewton held a kick-off luncheon this week marking the beginning of their fund-raising efforts.
The funds raised by countless volunteers stay in the Brewton and East Brewton communities. Those funds are used in ways that touch the lives of thousands of people each year.
Through the distributions of funds raised in a few short months, children will enjoy the generosity of many as they play baseball and create memories that last a lifetime.
Those distributions also make sure funds are available to help provide transportation for children who otherwise might not be able to get to a doctor.
With so many other agencies receiving financial assistance through United Fund, it's hard to imagine not wanting to help.
With the fundraising getting into full swing, many area businesses, corporations and individuals will be asked to lend a helping hand by making a contribution to the 2009 United Fund drive.
When you or your business is approached with the request to make a donation, please keep in mind just where your money goes.
With 16 agencies throughout our communities, the number of lives touched by those donations is hard to imagine. With parents, siblings, children and the community at large reaping the benefits of generosity, thousands of people may be able to enjoy a better, safer and manageable life because you gave.
We encourage everyone to make an effort to donate whatever amount you can to the United Fund of Brewton and East Brewton.
Your generosity can, and does, change lives.
