Ms. Orene B. Schmitz, 79, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at her residence in Flomaton. She was a native of Evergreen and a resident of Flomaton since 1973 coming from Century, Fla., where she was a teacher in the Escambia County School System for many years. She was a member of Flomaton United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna (Jeff) Smith of Chickasaw; a granddaughter, Amanda Fuqua of Wilmer; and two great-grandsons, Brian and Bradley Nelson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Glenn McCall officiating. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
