Purple tea event planned Thursday

October has been designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in recognition of this national event the Escambia County Cooperative Extension System is sponsoring the sixth Annual Purple Tea Celebration.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 23 at D. W. McMillan Memorial Hospital's Education Center in Brewton.
There will be special recognition of survivors of cancer and their families. Professionals will also be on hand for Breast Self-Exams Awareness, challenge you to “Take Charge of Your Health” and fun activities. Door prizes and refreshments will be offered.
Guests are invited to wear purple; bring a pretty teacup and a friend. Call 867- 7760 if you have questions, otherwise we hope to see you there.
