Mr. James Floyd Hobbs, 82, of Pineview Street, died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was a native and longtime resident of Escambia County. He was a retired security guard with Container Corporation of America and he was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garnie and Donnie Hobbs and a brother, Jessie B. Hobbs.
He is survived by a son, J.R. Hobbs of Atlanta; a daughter, Becky Lynch of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Leon Hobbs of Brewton and Ray Hobbs; two sisters, Barbara Faye Levins of Seattle, Wash. and Sue Martin of Perdido; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service time at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Brother A.D. Hale officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Flomaton with Williams Memorial Funeral Home directing.
