Lower gas prices have local drivers smiling

Gas stations in the Brewton area were busy Tuesday as gas prices fell to levels not seen in years.
At the Jet Pep on U.S. 31, the price of gas was $2.05 per gallon for regular Tuesday, and drivers were pulled into every pump.
Norman Butts, who drives for J&J Towing, said he was excited about the price of diesel fuel.
Phil Johnson, who lives in Atmore and works in Brewton, said he was glad to be spending less for his commute.
Beverly Holliman of the Sandcut community was happily filling her tank Tuesday with the cheaper gas.
Down the street, at the Diamond station, the scene was the same Tuesday.
Clarissa Puryear lives in Pensacola and has to drive to Brewton often.
Nathan Lindsey of Brewton said he was happy to see lower prices. “I haven't seen the gas prices so low since I got my driver's license five years ago,” he said.
Jim Starke of Brewton was also pulled up to the pump.
