Mrs. Marjorie Leigh Salter, 84, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2008, in a Pensacola hospice facility. She was a native of Brewton and a resident of Brewton for most of her life. She and her husband owned and operated Salter Flooring for a number of years. She was Assembly of God by faith and she was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenza Salter.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne (Connie) Salter of Fort Worth, Texas and Michael Salter of Mobile; a brother, Gerald Jeter of Chumuckla; a sister, Hilma Minchew of Milton, Fla.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. John Childers officiating.
Burial followed at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Craver's Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were Gerald Jeter, Wilburn Pittman, Clyde Sheen and Hilton Howard.
