Turnout huge in county

When George Coale arrived at the Brewton Civic Center to work the poll Tuesday morning, one voter had beat him there and was snoozing in a chair just outside the door.
Turnout was brisk all day across Escambia County for the presidential election, with at least 100 voters in line at 7 a.m.
In all, 14,705 people voted in Escambia County - not counting the provisional ballots that won't be counted until next Wednesday.
Mims said few problems were reported at county precincts, other than reports of campaigning too close to the precincts. She said election officials and sheriff's deputies checked out each report and found there were no violations.
