Cooking is on the collective southern woman's mind as the Holiday Season approaches. Cooking old time and family favorites is a Southern tradition, so what could be better than the 25th anniversary reprinting of the Civic League Cookbook. When the book was first published in 1983, it featured some of the finest of Brewton's many fine cooks.
The Civic League will have a mini-tasting and cookbook sale at Christmas Down Town on Thursday, Nov. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. They will have samples from the original recipes, and will be taking orders for the books which are expected before the Thanksgiving Holiday. The books will be on sale for $20 until January 2009 when the price will be $25..
It is time to review the criteria for the Dement Hays Nursing Scholarship offered each year by the League in conjunction with the McMillan Trust.
