Mr. Gerald Mathan Maddox, 79, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, at his son's residence in Brewton after an extended illness. He was a native and former resident of Escambia County before moving to Theodore more than 40 years ago. He was a retired carpenter in the construction industry and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Air Force.
He is survived by three sons, Tommy (Kathy) Maddox of Brewton, Jerry Maddox of Dallas, Texas, and Jeffrey Maddox of Cartersville, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Samantha (Mark) Sexton of Wetumpka, and Jason (Stacey) Maddox of Trafford, Ala.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. at Fort Crawford Cemetery with the Rev. Byrnes Pitts officiating and Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
