Allison Dixon, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James R. Dixon II of Brewton, auditioned in August and was chosen as part of the Pensacola Children's Chorus Young Singers.
As part of the group, Dixon will join other chorus members in a ‘Christmas on the Coast' presentation early next month.
The Dec. 6 performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a Dec. 7 performance at 2:30 p.m. Both performances will be held at the Pensacola Civic Center.
Dixon is involved in local theatre and performing chorus groups. She is a member of the T.R. Miller High School Chorus and Show Choir, the Brewton Community Theatre and the Greater Escambia Council of the Arts.
The Pensacola Children's Chorus Young singers are chosen for their ability to communicate to audiences. Renowned for their excellent showmanship and advanced choreographic skills, the teens are in great demand locally for performances at various cultural and civic functions.
The group consists of approximately 33 members and requires a large commitment and faithful attendance.
The Young Singers have toured through the United States and Europe and have performed at such venues as the East Room of the White House and Great Hall of the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.; the American Church in Paris, France; the 16th District of Paris Concert Hall; the Harrow Arts Center in London, England and other venues around the world.
Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster outlets or charge by phone by calling 251-434-7444. Ticket prices are $17, $27 and $29 and will be available at the Civic Center Box office.
The Broadway-style production will feature over 270 young performers and will feature medleys of favorite songs and carols of the season.
