Mrs. Pearl Evelyn Griffin, 100, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008, in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. She was a native of Butler County, and a former resident of Milton, Fla. and Conecuh County before moving to Brewton. She was of the JohovalhWitness faith and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Griffin and a grandson, Scott Douglas.
She is survived by four daughters, Nettie Ola Reid of Morris, Rosa L. Casey of Milton, Fla., and Jane Davis and Dorothy Younce, both of Brewton; one brother, Arthur Smith of Georgiana; one sister, Lillie Mae Carden Lowery of Florida; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Minister Larry Hampton officiating. Burial followed at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
