Mr. Terry B. Watson, 69, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, at his residence in Flomaton after an extended illness. He was a graduate of Flomaton High School and Auburn University with a degree in electrical engineering and high honors. He had a master's degree in electrical engineering which he received from the University of Missouri-Rolia, where he was a graduate assistant instructor. He was employed with Chemstrand/Monsanto for more than 30 years, and retired in the late 1990s. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Myrtice Watson.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Joyce; a son, Mark Watson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two daughters, Gay Watson of Montgomery, and Beth (Bart) Cooke of Houston, Texas; a sister, Sandra (Gene) Pettis of Pensacola, Fla.; and a brother, Teddy Watson of Montgomery.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Nov. 15, at the New Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Barnett's Crossroads. Pallbearers were Gene Chancery, Jimmy Brantley, Vernon Fore, Larry Jones and Jimbo Justice.
