Eagles match wins from previous two seasons

After only winning four games on the court their last two seasons, the W.S. Neal Eagles equaled that record Thursday night at home with a 51-45 win over J.U. Blacksher. The win put W.S. Neal's record at 4-3.
Bob Elliott and Kendrick Floyd led W.S. Neal with 10 points each and Chris Payne and Jeremy Nicholson both followed with nine points each in the win for the Eagles.
W.S. Neal jumped out to a 10-5 lead in the first quarter and then held a two-point advantage in the second quarter at 16-14 to claim a 26-19 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, W.S. Neal outscored the Bulldogs 15-14 to still hold a 41-33 lead heading into the fourth quarter. In the fourth quarter, W.S. Neal was outscored 12-10, but was able to hold on for the six-point win, 51-45.
W.S. Neal was set to play at Excel Friday night and will be back in action on Monday at Northview at 4:30 p.m. W.S. Neal will be back at home on Friday, Dec. 12 against T.R. Miller. Game time is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. with the B teams playing.
Flomaton 59, W.S. Neal 58
After a 13-13 tie after the first quarter, the W.S. Neal Eagles used an 18-7 run in the second quarter to claim a 31-20 lead at the half.
The 11-point lead was short-lived for the Eagles as Flomaton came out of the half and scored 23 points to claim a 43-41 lead after three quarters of play.
In the fourth quarter, W.S. Neal outscored Flomaton 17-16, but that was one point short as Flomaton defeated W.S. Neal 59-58 to crop W.S. Neal to 1-1 on the season.
Bob Elliott led the Eagles with 12 points followed by 11 from Chris Payne and 10 from Kendrick Floyd.
Red Level 55, W.S. Neal 49
In the Flomaton Invitational Thanksgiving tournament, the W.S. Neal Eagles dropped their first game of the tournament when they lost to Red Level 55-49. The loss dropped W.S. Neal to 1-2.
Red Level opened the game with a 16-8 lead after the first quarter of play, but W.S. Neal outscored Red Level 12-11 in the second quarter to cut the lead to 27-20 at the half.
In the third quarter, Red Level held a 14-13 advantage to claim a 41-33 heading into the fourth and final quarter.
In the fourth quarter, W.S. Neal outscored Red Level 16-14, but it was to late as Red Level won 55-49.
Elliott led W.S. Neal with 15 points followed by 10 points each from Floyd and Nicholson.
W.S. Neal 51,
Bayside Academy 33
In their second game of the tournament, W.S. Neal improved to 2-2 with a 51-33 win over Bayside Academy.
Nicholson led W.S. Neal with 14 points followed by 12 from Payne, and 11 from Floyd.
W.S. Neal led 6-4 after the first quarter and outscored Bayside Academy 16-6 in the second quarter to claim a 22-10 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, both teams scored 12 points leaving W.S. Neal with a 34-22 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth quarter, W.S. Neal outscored the Admirals 17-11 to claim the 18-point win, 51-33
Flomaton 51, W.S. Neal 37
In a rematch of their regular season game and in the finals of the Thanksgiving tournament, Flomaton defeated W.S. Neal 51-37. The loss dropped W.S. Neal to 2-3 on the season.
Flomaton grabbed a 17-7 lead after the end of the first quarter and after a 10-9 advantage in the second quarter, led 27-16 at the half.
In the third quarter, the two teams played to a 14-14 tie with Flomaton holding a 41-30 lead at the end of three quarters of play.
In the fourth quarter, W.S. Neal scored seven, but that was three points short of Flomaton's 10 as Flomaton took the win 51-37.
Payne led W.S. Neal with 11 points and Floyd followed with nine in the loss.
W.S. Neal 61, Frisco City 38
In a game on Tuesday in Frisco City, W.S. Neal evened their record at 3-3 with a 61-38 win over the Frisco City Whippets.
Nicholson led W.S. Neal with 17 points and was joined by three other Eagles in double figures as Floyd scored 14 points and Elliott and Payne each had 11 points.
W.S. Neal led 14-11 after the first quarter and scored 21 points in the second quarter to the Whippets 11 to claim a 35-22 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, W.S. Neal outscored Frisco City 15-12 in the third quarter to claim a 50-34 lead.
In the fourth quarter, the Eagles outscored Frisco City 11-4 to claim the 23-point win, 61-38.
