The Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce is again sponsoring the annual community Christmas parade.
With the parade set to get underway at 2 p.m. on Saturday, residents and visitors to our cities will have an opportunity to spend some time together as one community.
As the holidays approach, many people are experiencing economic stresses not felt in recent years.
The parade will offer a chance for every resident, every adult, child and even visitors to our city a chance to be equals. The event will also afford many people an opportunity to, if only temporarily, forget about the troubles and the state of our economy.
We encourage everyone to take the opportunity to line the streets of East Brewton and downtown Brewton this weekend with joy and a sense of peace as the holidays make their way into the two cities we call our homes.
Through the gathering of friends and family for a such a community event, the feelings of what the season truly means can be experienced.
The holidays are meant as a time of celebration for the birth of Christ. That time is also meant for remembering and experiencing the love of being with family and friends and sharing the joy and peace of the season.
We hope every resident of this community will find an opportunity to stand along the streets and open their hearts and minds to the joy of the season and experience a sense of peace for the holidays.
