Mr. Lloyd Forrest Franklin, 70, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, in a Jay, Fla., medical facility after an extended illness. He was a native of Sylacauga, and a former resident of Holiday, Fla., before moving to Brewton. He was of the Baptist faith, a U.S. Navy veteran, a member of Masonic Lodge, and retired from Civil Service with 20 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen Champion Franklin of Brewton; two sons, Terry (Wanda) Franklin of Millbrook, and David Franklin of Brewton; one daughter, Mary (Steve) Marvin of Letohatchee; a brother, Jerry (Janie) Franklin of Anniston; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Brittingham officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
