Mr. Derek Adarryll King, 36, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2008, in a Birmingham hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Escambia County and had been employed at Georgia Pacific and D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his parents, Willie James King and Dora Poindexter King of Brewton; a sister, Yada King Horace of Montgomery; his grandmothers, Ivory Lee King and Marie Poindexter, both of Brewton; and numerous other friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Presley-Fluker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. at Greater Mount Calvary Baptist Church on U.S. 29, with the Rev Johnny F. Atkins officiating and Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
