Mrs. Fannie Merle Ellis, 65, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, at a local hospital. She was a native of Evergreen, a resident of Atmore for 38 years, and resident of Brewton for several months. She had been an employee at Vanity Fair and was a member of the Walnut Hill Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin Lowery of Goodway and Monte (Jennifer) Lowery of Atmore; a daughter, Melissa (Ricky) Hudson of Tuscaloosa; a brother, Joe (Kay) Ross of Flomaton; a sister, Lucy (Phillip) Pettis of East Brewton; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home with the Rev. Theron Collinsworth and the Rev. Ray Hudson officiating. Burial followed at McCurdy Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Brennen Smith, Monte Lowery, Kevin Lowery, Phillip Pettis, John Dewberry and Ricky Hudson.
