Being politically correct wasn't the focus of the members of the Friendship Freewill Baptist Church last week.
Church pastor Mike Henderson said the members of the church are responsible for the presentation of the live nativity scene that has become a tradition for the congregation.
Henderson and his wife, Kathy, will celebrate their 24th year in the pastorship at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church Dec. 26.
Henderson said his portrayal of Joseph in the recent presentation gave him a new prospective on the Christmas season.
Henderson said Joseph was a willing vessel to answer the call God had put on him at that special time.
The cast of the production included more than 20 individuals who took turns portraying different members of the nativity.
Jason Hart and Mike Henderson took turns portraying Joseph with Jessica Morris and Mandy Selario sharing the role of Mary. Baby Jesus was portrayed by Gabby Selario and Dallas Lowry. Courtney Grantham and Tiffany Turner shared the role of the Angel with sheppards portrayed by Brooks Hart, Dalton Hart, Chris White, Paul Howell, A.J. Daughetry and Alan Spears. Portraying wisemen were Rusty Burnham, James Grantham, Eddie Morris and Ethan Howell.
Behind the scenes workers included Brandy White, Alisa Hart, Ruth Carden, Melba and Bob Burk, James Turner and Diane Johnson.
The live nativity scene was hosted on the property of Dorothy Carden on U.S. 31 South.
