The T.R. Miller Lady Tigers improved to 6-1 and to 2-0 in the Escambia County tournament and the Lady Blue Devils suffered its fourth loss of the season in its second round match up against the Lady Tigers of T.R. Miller.
The Lady Blue Devils (9-4, 0-0) fell to Miller 64-40, which is their second loss of the season to the Lady Tigers.
The Lady Tigers pulled away early in the game and continued their run in the second half holding ECHS to 40 points.
T.R. Miller and Atmore played to a 12-12 tie in the first quarter, but in the second quarter the Lady Tigers outscored Atmore 21-6 to hold a 33-18 lead at the half.
In the second half, Atmore opened with an 11-10 run in the third quarter, but T.R. Miller responded with a 21-11 run in the fourth quarter to win by 24 points, 64-40.
Kesha Peterson piled in 26 points to lead the Lady Tigers in the win. Catherine Green and Nakiya Smith added eight points in the win for the Lady Tigers.
