Theft charges have been filed against four Atmore juveniles and two East Brewton juveniles are facing possible charges in connection with a rash of thefts and burglaries in the county last week.
Escambia County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said the juveniles were arrested at an apartment complex on Williamson Street in East Brewton following an investigation into the incidents.
Lambert said the juveniles admitted to the crimes when confronted by officers and described their night of thefts.
Lambert said three hunting guns and three pistols were taken from vehicles during the Dec. 21 incident.
Lambert said most of the property taken from the vehicles in the Old Bratt Road area has been recovered. One juvenile was taken to the youth detention center in Baldwin County while the other juveniles were released to their parents.
Lambert said the stolen cell phones helped to solve the case for the departments.
Lambert said residents could avoid having their belongings or vehicles taken from their yards and driveways by using common sense techniques.
Lambert said the juveniles' names could not be released due to their age, which ranged from 14 to 17 years.
