T.R. Miller Tigers fall to 0-9 with two losses in tourney

The T.R. Miller Tigers dropped to 0-9 with two recent losses at the Ft. Walton Beach Playground Area Shootout at Choctawhatchee High School.
The Tigers dropped a 70-35 decision to Escambia of Florida and a 74-29 loss to McDonogh of Louisiana.
T.R. Miller Tiger head basketball coach Marc Edge his team is still making too many turnovers.
The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, Jan. 3 when they travel to Butler to take on area rival Choctaw County,
The Tigers will be back in action at home on Tuesday, Jan. 6 against Bayside Academy.
No B team will be played between the Tigers and the Admirals of Bayside Academy.
Escambia 70, T.R. Miller 35
The T.R. Miller Tigers were outscored 19-8 in the first quarter against Escambia as the Tigers dropped to 0-8 with a 35-point loss, 70-35.
Escambia outscored the Tigers 20-11 in the second quarter to hold a 39-19 lead at the half.
In the second half, T.R. Miller was outscored 16-9 in the third quarter and 15-7 in the fourth quarter to fall in the game.
Justin Payne led the Tigers with nine points in the loss.
Derek Riley followed with seven and Keenan Pride had six.
McDonogh, La. 74, T.R. Miller 29
In their second game of the Playground Area Shootout, the Tigers dropped a 45-point loss to McDonogh, 74-29.
McDonogh outscored the Tigers 14-3 in the first quarter and 18-14 in the second quarter to hold a 15-point lead at he half, 32-17.
In the second half, the Tigers were outscored 23-8 in the third quarter and 19-4 in the fourth quarter to fall by a score of 74-29 and drop to 0-9.
Riley led the Tigers with 11 points and Payne followed with nine points in the loss.
Corey Redfearn finished with 12 rebounds and eight blocked shots.
