Mr. Danny Doster, 62, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008. He was an assistant chief of police in Bernice, a former meat cutter and a member of Beulah Baptist Church, the Bernice Masonic Lodge and the Bernice Bass Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyelle and Novline Doster and one brother, Larry Doster.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Doster; one son: Kevin (Ginger) Doster; one daughter: Kimberly (Jeff) Simon; four grandchildren: Daniel, Devin, Brittan and Jakob; a brother: Carlos Doster; a sister: Dianne (Robert) Jones; one special niece: Dawn (Stephen) Stanley; mother and father-in-law: Floyd and Opal Smith of Brewton; one sister-in-law: Linda (Joe) Miller; and a special brother, Graydon Fitzgerald.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, in the chapel at Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Hurst and Bro. J. E. Brown officiating. A Masonic graveside service was held in Beulah Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville. Pallbearers were Orville Doster, Eddie Horton, Dewayne Jackson, Clarence Davis, Ricky Albritton and Tommy Welch. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Popwell, Graydon Fitzgerald and the Bernice Masons.
