Brewton Police, officials at Walmart and now, the FBI, are all interested in finding out who made multiple bomb threats on the local retail center.
McGougin said the members of the Brewton Police Department and Walmart employees are required to follow policy and procedure when the threat of a bomb is made.
McGougin said the calls made over the weekend prompted a response from police and Brewton Fire Department personnel.
Bill Willis, manager at Walmart, said policy and procedures would always be followed at the store.
Willis said the dual evacuations did force Walmart to evacuate customers from the store.
Making threats against public safety by means of reporting a potential bomb situation is a crime, and officials are taking it very seriously, McGougin said.
McGougin said officials with the Federal Bureau of Investigation have been contacted and the organization is aiding in the investigation.
Anyone with any information regarding the person or persons who may have been responsible for the bomb threat calls is asked to contact the Brewton Police Department at 867-3212.
