The sounds of change echoed through the halls of area schools Tuesday as President Barack Obama took the oath of the highest office in America.
At Brewton Elementary, students in Kathy Weaver's third-grade class watched and listened as the historic event took place.
Those sentiments were echoed by a student at W.S. Neal High School. Tenth-grade honors students watched the proceedings during Kevin Jordan's current events class.
Change was the focus of the day's speeches and events. Although not everyone watching was supportive of Obama's race for the office.
BES student Garrett Cave was excited about the event and believes good things will be forthcoming.
WSN Principal Phillip Ellis said every student who chose to watch the inaugural event was allowed to view the event.
Olivia Guerra, a student at Brewton Elementary, summed up the feelings of the 3 million plus spectators at Tuesday's events.
