Mr. Lem Strickland, 89, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, in a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a life long resident of the Jay area. He was a member of Golden Memorial Holiness Church. He was engageded in farming and agriculture for more than 65 years. He was also the founder of RGS Roofing in 1979.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Golden Strickland; a daughter, Delores Strickland; two granddaughters, Desha (Jason) Lashley and Davina (Brandon) Carroll; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 1, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Golden Memorial Holiness Church at Dixonville, Fla.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 1, at 3 p.m. at the church with Brother G.W. Birdsong and Brother Andy Boutwell officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
