The Brewton Public Library has come up with yet another innovation to serve the community: showing Oscar-winning movies.
Beginning Thursday, the library will hold movie nights for the next five weeks on each Thursday.
Walker reminded residents of the area that the items in the public library are paid for with tax dollars, and they should take advantage of them.
The list of the movies are: “My Fair Lady,” Jan. 29; “From Here to Eternity,” Feb. 5; “Out of Africa,” Feb. 12; “The English Patient,” Feb. 19; and “Driving Miss Daisy,” Feb. 26.
Walker has set up the projector and readied the popcorn and hopes many people will show up for the movies.
The staff at the Brewton Public Library not only keeps and maintains the library itself, but it also works with The Friends of the Library, located in the house behind the library. They have book sales and several groups are having meetings there.
