First half costs JDCC hoops

A 21-point deficit in the first quarter led to a 28-point defeat for the JDCC Warhawk basketball team against Alabama Southern as they dropped to 0-19 overall and to 0-9 in conference play with a 91-63 loss to the Eagles.
JDCC was outscored 45-24 in the first quarter and 46-39 in the second quarter to fall by 28.
JDCC had four players in double figures in the loss.
Jonathan Pascley led JDCC with 15 points followed by 12 points from Will Dupont, and 11 points from Justin Burroughs and Tysean Thompson.
Antron Jones led the Warhawks with nine rebounds and Dupont led with five assists.
DeAngelo Kirkland, Pascley, Brandon Howard and Jones all had one block and Burroughs, Thompson, Howard and Jones all had a steal.
Jones finished with seven points in the loss to Alabama Southern.
JDCC lost 93-70 to Wallace State of Selma to fall to 0-20 overall and 0-10 in conference play.
Stats for that game were not known as of press time.
JDCC will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Andalusia to take on LBW.
JDCC will be back in action at home on Saturday against Southern Union.
Game time for Thursday’s game is set for 7 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
All games will be conference games for JDCC.
