A local teacher was arrested Tuesday on a grand jury indictment for possession and distribution of a controlled substance.
District Attorney Steve Billy said Larry Tindell, 48, of 4014 Ridge Road, was indicted on one count each of possession and distribution of a controlled substance believed to be Lortab.
Tindell is a special education teacher at W.S. Neal High School.
Bond was set at $125,000.
Sheriff Grover Smith said deputies were conducting a search of Tindell's property Tuesday, but he said it was “too early to say” whether any additional charges would be levied.
Smith said the investigation is ongoing.
He would not say where any alleged distribution of the controlled substance took place.
