Mr. James Roland Adkisson Sr., died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at his residence. He was a native of Brewton and a resident of Brewton for most of his life. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He owned and operated Roland’s East Side Auto Parts for a number of years. He was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Francis Stricklin Adkisson and a son, James Roland Adkisson Jr.
He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Blackwell of East Brewton, and Teresa Chapman of Brewton; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb, 12, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home. Burial followed at Ridge Road Baptist Church Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
