After earning the class 3A area runner-up slot in the area tournament last week in Butler, the T.R. Miller Tiger basketball team was pitted against area winner Central Hayneville and dropped a 62-25 loss Friday night in sub state play to end their season with a 5-17 record.
The Tigers were outscored 29-11 in the first half and 33-14 in the second half to fall by 37-points.
Central of Hayneville outscored the Tigers 15-8 in the first quarter and 14-3 in the second quarter to claim a 29-11 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, the Tigers were outscored 22-8 to fall behind 51-19 and then were outscored 11-6 to fall 62-25.
Edge said in the first half his team defended Central about as well as anyone had.
Corey Redfearn led the Tigers with 12 points. Derrick Riley finished with six points in the loss and Terez Lane had four.
Anthony Herbert chipped in two points and Matt Lane added one.
Edge said it was great to at least make it to the sub regional.
