JDCC baseball now 4-5 with recent losses

After improving to 4-3 overall, JDCC dropped a double header at PJC to fall to 4-5 overall.
JDCC lost 5-4 in game one and 8-0 in game two.
JDCC was set to take on Okaloosa Walton on Tuesday and will be back in action on Tuesday, March 3 at home against Gulf Coast (Mississippi) Community College with a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
Game one: PJC 5, JDCC 4
Leading 4-3 through the top of the seventh inning, JDCC gave up two runs in the bottom of the inning to fall behind 5-4 and lose by one run to drop to 4-4.
JDCC fell behind 2-0 in the first inning, but scored three runs in the top of the second inning and one run in the top of the third inning to take a 4-2 lead.
PJC cut the lead to 4-3 with a run in the fourth inning before getting two in the seventh inning to claim the win.
Derek Young took the loss on the mound for JDCC. Young went 2/3 of an inning and allowed two runs on three hits.
Derek Lowry pitched 4 and 1/3 inning and allowed two earned runs (three total) on three hits, walked one and struck out four.
Andrew Favant pitched one inning and had one walk.
Cody Sanderson led JDCC at the plate with a 2-for-3 day. Sanderson had a double and an RBI in the loss.
Ben Blodgett was 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI.
Reid Wynn was 1-for-2 with a double. Ryne Phillips was 1-for-4 in the loss at the plate.
Game two: PJC 8, JDCC 0
In game two, PJC used a four-run third inning to add to their 3-0 lead and added a late run in the fourth inning to claim an 8-0 win over the Warhawks and drop JDCC to 4-5 overall.
Hunter Brown took the loss on the mound for JDCC. Brown went two and 1/3 inning and allowed seven runs (six earned) on eight hits, had two strikeouts and two walks.
Hunter Norris pitched two innings and allowed two hits and had a strikeout.
Kyle Wyatt went one and 2/3 inning and allowed one run on two hits and walked one.
Sanderson was 2-for-2 to lead JDCC. Clarence Moorer, Sean Little and Blake Long were all 1-for-1 in the loss.
The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team won three of their last four games to improve to 4-3.
JDCC swept a double header with Huntingdon in Montgomery and then split a doubleheader at home against Jones County.
JDCC was set to be back in action on Saturday at PJC against PJC and East Central Community College.
JDCC sweeps Huntingdon
8-3 and 12-1
The Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk baseball team improved to 3-2 overall on Monday with a doubleheader sweep of Huntingdon College in Montgomery.
JDCC won game one 8-3 and game two 12-1.
Michael King picked up the win for the Warhawks in game one and Hunter Brown picked up the win in game two.
Ryne Phillips and Cody Sanderson both had homeruns in the wins for the Warhawks.
In game one, Ryne Phillips led JDCC at the plate with a 2-for-4 day and three RBIs and a homerun.
Hunter Norris and Trent Smith were both 1-for-3 with a double each. Smith had 3 RBIs in the win.
Clarence Moorer added two RBIs in the win.
Michael King got the win on the mound for JDCC. King went five innings and allowed three runs on three hits and walked one and struck out three.
In game two, JDCC scored two runs in the second inning, three in the third, one in the fourth and six runs in the fifth inning to claim a 12-1 10-run game win over Huntingdon to improve to 3-2.
Cody Sanderson led JDCC with a 2-for-3 day at the plate with a double, a homerun and three RBIs.
Ben Blodgett added a double and one RBI and Harry Haring was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI.
Hunter Brown picked up the win for JDCC on the mound. Brown got the start for JDCC and went four innings and allowed one earned run on three hits and walked one and struck out seven.
Hunter Norris and David Dean pitched in relief in the 11-run win.
Norris went 2/3 of an inning and had one strikeout and Dean with 1/3 of an inning and allowed one walk.
On Tuesday afternoon at home, JDCC split a doubleheader with Jones County Junior College to make their record 4-3.
JDCC lost the first game of the double header 10-5 and won the second game 10-3.
In the first game, JDCC fell behind 10-0 through the top of the fourth inning before scoring two runs in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 10-2. JDCC would add three more runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to cut the lead to 10-5 but was unable to get any closer as they lost by five runs.
Shane Ikner took the loss on the mound for the Warhawks.
Ikner went two innings and allowed five runs on six hits and walked five and struck out one.
Josh Benton relieved Ikner and went five innings, allowing four earned runs, five total, on eight hits, four strikeouts and one walk.
Cordaro Lindsey led JDCC at the plate with a 2-for-2 day.
Harry Haring was 2-for-4 with an RBI, Terry McClain was 2-for-3 with one RBI and Taylor Register was 1-for-4 with a double.
Cody Turner, Shawn Little and Reid Wynn were 1-for-2 in the loss.
In the second game, JDCC benefited from a five-run second inning and a three-run fourth inning to grab an 8-0 lead after four innings of play.
Jones added three runs in the top of the fifth inning and JDCC added two in the bottom of the inning to claim a 10-3 and the game was called due to darkness and the Warhawks picked up the seven-run win to improve to 4-3 this season.
Michael Clay got the start on the mound for JDCC and went 4 and 1/3 innings and allowed three runs, two walks and struck out two.
Derek Lowry relieved Clay and went 2/3 of an inning.
Blake Long led JDCC at the plate going 1-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs.
Chance Lawrence was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Cody Sanderson was 1-for-1 with a double and an RBI.
Lindsey was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Smith was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.
