Ms. Margaret Sheehan Riley, 100, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at a local care facility. She was a native of Dallas, Texas, and a resident of Roswell for 19 years. She was a resident of Brewton some years ago and helped to start the Nutrition Center at St. Maurice Catholic Church and with Father Michael McGuiness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick J. and Margaret G. Moore Sheehan; her husband, Ambrose H. Riley Jr., and a sister, Ann Patteson.
She is survived by a nephew, Tom Patteson of Roswell; nieces, Margaret Brower and Carol Ruminski, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., Patsy McGinty, of Hereford, Texas, and Mary Jane Madison, of Roswell; 18 great-nieces and nephews and 23 great-great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Juniet O.F.M. officiating. Burial followed at South Park Cemetery with Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory directing.
