Tiger baseball falls to Jay

T.R. Miller gave up three runs in the first inning and four in the second inning to fall behind 7-0 after two innings and a late rally ended with the bases loaded at the Tiger baseball team fell to 2-4 with a 9-6 loss to Jay Tuesday afternoon in Brewton.
Rob Knowles got the start on the mound and the loss for the Tigers.
Knowles gave up six runs in 1 1/3 innings of work.
Corey Rilling relieved Knowles in the second inning with one out and allowed one run on two hits.
John Mathieu went the final five innings and allowed two runs on three hits, struck out four and walked one.
T.R. Miller cut the lead to 7-2 in the bottom of the third inning, one on a Jay error and another on a RBI single by Garrett Robinson.
Jay then took an 8-2 lead in the top of the fifth, but in the bottom of the sixth inning with the bases loaded and one out, Caleb McAnally doubled to score Conner Denton, Robinson and Sam Sharpe to cut the lead to 8-5.
In the top of the seventh inning, Jay got a run off a Tiger error to take a 9-5 lead.
In the bottom of the inning, Knowles doubled and then scored on a Jay error to cut the lead to 9-6.
The Tigers then loaded the bases in the inning with two outs, but failed to score as they lost by three runs.
McAnally led the Tigers with a 1-for-4 day at the plate with a double and three RBIs.
Knowles was 1-for-1 with a double and Robinson was 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Denton and Sharpe were both 1-for-4 at the plate.
The Tigers were set to take on Bayside Friday night in Daphne and will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Atmore to take on the Escambia County Blue Devils.
