This letter is written to publicly acknowledge and thank the McCall Volunteer Fire Department.
On two different occasions this year, I had to call for their help. About two months ago I had a chimney fire and they arrived at my home within minutes after my call.
The firemen were very professional putting out the fire, checking in my attick, the roof and chimney and being careful not to make a mess on the floor.
A little over two weeks ago, in the process of a controlled burning in my yard, a freaky thing happened. A spark flew and set a tall, dead pine tree on fire at the very top.
Two firemen came soon after being called (we were spraying water on the tree in the meantime) and cut the tree down and finished putting the fire out.
These two experiences with fire were terrifying for me and I certainly felt foolish having to call the fire department for help; however, these firemen told me I did the right thing by calling them and to never hesitate to call for help.
These people are well trained and dedicated to do their jobs to the best of their abilities and I thank the McCall Volunteer Fire Department.
