The W.S. Neal Lady Eagles went 0-4 in the T.R. Miller Invitational and fell to 0-8 overall.
The Lady Eagles dropped a 15-0 loss to Jay in the first game, fell to Monroe County High School 18-10, lost to Jackson 15-1, and lost to T.R. Miller 16-0.
Jay 15,
W.S. Neal 0
Jay scored five runs in each of the first three innings of the game and held W.S. Neal to no runs and only two hits to drop the Lady Eagles to 0-1 in the tournament and 0-5 overall.
Renee Boatwright was 1-for-2 for W.S. Neal and Katie Elliott was 1-for-1 as they had the only two hits for W.S. Neal.
Boatwright was the losing pitcher for the Lady Eagles. She allowed 15 runs on 12 hits, walked one and struck out one in three innings.
Monroe County 18,
W.S. Neal 10
In the second game of the tournament for the Lady Eagles of W.S. Neal, Monroe County used a 14-run second inning to claim an 18-3 lead. They held on to defeat the Lady Eagles after walking eight of 13 batters in the final inning.
W.S. Neal scored seven runs in the final inning to cut the lead to 18-10, but it was not enough as the Lady Eagles fell to 0-6.
Jade Danley took the loss on the mound for the Lady Eagles.
Jeannie Crawford and Morgan Cooper led the Lady Eagles at the plate. Crawford and Cooper both went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Chelsey Southwell and Haley Lum were 1-for-3.
Alia Fountain, Lauren Boatwright, and Raley Boggs all had game RBIs.
W.S. Neal scored one run in the first inning, two in the second inning and seven in the third inning.
Jackson 15,
W.S. Neal 1
In the last game of pool play for the Lady Eagles on Saturday, W.S. Neal dropped a 15-1 loss to Jackson High School to fall to 0-7.
Anna Nelson led the Lady Eagles at the plate with a 1-for-2 day and the lone RBI.
Lauren Boatwright had the other hit for the Lady Eagles.
Jackson scored one run in the first inning and 14 in the second inning to claim a 15-0 lead after two innings.
The Lady Eagles scored one run in the final inning to cut the lead to 15-1.
Renee Boatwright took the loss on the mound for the Lady Eagles. Boatwright went two innings and allowed eight runs.
T.R. Miller 16,
W.S. Neal 0
After going 0-3 in pool play, the Lady Eagles earned the No. 4 seed and faced off against No. 1 seed T.R. Miller.
The Lady Eagles dropped to 0-8 with a 16-0 loss to T.R. Miller.
Renee Boatwright took the loss on the mound for W.S. Neal.
T.R. Miller scored three runs in the first inning and 13 in the second inning to claim the 16-0 win.
W.S. Neal had no hits in the game.
Tuesday’s game for W.S. Neal against Hillcrest was rescheduled for April 28 as Hillcrest was unable to get a bus to make the trip to East Brewton.
