Students on the Envirobowl team at T.R. Miller High School have a new tool to learn about science — a live oak tree planted on campus by the Brewton Tree and Beautification Committee.
Board member Joe Gordy said the team — which competes in science events in the region and statewide — has agreed to water and take care of the tree.
Envirobowl team sponsor Lisa Atkinson said the team, which won first place in regional competition in Mobile in January, is planning to compete for the state title Thursday in Birmingham.
