BREAKING NEWS: Tornado damage in Appleton area

Escambia County Emergency Management Director David Adams was on the scene of an early morning tornado in the Appleton Community Thursday to assess damages and provide the proper
response.
Officials with the Escambia County Sheriffs Department as well as workers with the Appleton Volunteer Fire Department and Red Cross also responded to the scene.
According to officials at the scene tornadic activity was reported in the Appleton area along Mason Mill Pond Road, Appleton Road and extending to an area along U.S. 31 at about 7 a.m. Thursday morning.
Early reports show hundreds of trees damaged throughout the targeted area.
Three homes in the effected area received minor to moderate damage according to officials at the scene.
No injuries were reported as a result of the severe weather activity.
