Strong winds caused damage in several areas of Escambia County Friday
morning as a storm front moved through the area.
David Adams, director of the Escambia Emergency Management Agency, said
several trees and power lines were reported downed in the Roberts and Dixie
Communities. Nearly a dozen locations experienced downed trees and power
outages, he said.
In an area off Travis Road, one home was without front and back porches
Friday after high winds went through the area. Minor damage was found on the
Paradise Lane home as a result of the porches being torn from the structure.
A barn was also lost in the storm as the roof was torn off by winds and the
remaining structure destroyed as several trees were blown down on the
property.
