Several employees from Medical Center Pharmacy have decided to test themselves in the upcoming “Brewton to Atmore Bike Ride” on May 2.
Although Crenshaw said the pharmacy bike riders have not had any experience riding long distance, they are preparing to get themselves in shape to do the best job they can.
Alecia Glaize, Executive Director for Escambia County Habitat for Humanity, said there would be transportation provided.
The bike ride will begin Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 8 a.m. from Burnt Corn Creek Park on St. Nicholas Avenue. It will end 27 miles later at the Escambia County Satellite Office on the east side of Atmore. There riders will gather as a group and ride an additional 2.5 miles to Tom Byrne Park on Medical Park Drive in Atmore for a total of 29.5 miles. There will be a rest stop at Hurricane Park in Flomaton. Registration will open 7 a.m. at the park.
