Mr. Dennis Wayne Darby, 51, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at his residence. He was a native of Mobile, and spent most of his life in Brewton, before moving to North Carolina five years ago. He served in the U.S, Navy and worked as a chef at the Crown Royal Hotel. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his mother, Cupidine Drennon of Brewton; three brothers, Bobby Darby of Valley, Gary Darby of Brewton, and Jerry Darby of Castleberry; two sisters, Phyllis Smith of Castleberry and Shlia Nelson of Indiana.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 18, at 1 p.m. at Craver’s Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Steve Yuhasz officiating. Burial followed at London Baptist Church Cemetery near Castleberry, with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were Fletcher Darby, James Darby, Greg Darby, Christ Smith, Darrell Harris and Ronald Smith.
