For the first time since the beginning of the season, the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team is over the .500 win percentage.
With a sweep of Bishop State over the weekend Saturday at home, the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team improved to 19-20 overall and 7-7 in conference play.
JDCC outscored Bishop State 21-1 in the two games.
On Monday, the Lady Warhawks continued their recent win streak and dominated over Bishop State as they picked up their fourth straight win over Bishop State and their seventh overall with two wins in Mobile.
JDCC outscored Bishop State 31-3 in the two games as they took game one 10-0 and game two 21-3.
The wins improved JDCC to 21-20 overall and 9-7 in conference play.
JDCC head softball coach Misti Nims said she was proud of the wins.
JDCC is set to take on Alabama Southern at home on Wednesday, Wallace State of Dothan on Thursday and will travel to PJC on Friday to end their regular season.
Game one: JDCC 9,
In game one against Bishop State, JDCC Lady Warhawk starting pitcher Ashleigh Allgood pitched a no-hitter as JDCC defeated Bishop State 9-1 in eight innings to improve to 18-19 overall and 6-7 in conference play.
Allgood went the complete game and allowed one run, two walks and struck out seven in the win.
Sarah Vardeman was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Aleah Payne was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Amber Wilson joined Payne as she was 2-for-3 with one RBI and Tiffany Jean Duncan was 2-for-3.
Kristin Myers was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and Candice Lawrence was 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Antwinique Harris was 1-for-1 with one RBI in the win.
Game two: JDCC 12,
Bishop State 0
A trio of JDCC pitchers allowed one hit in game two as JDCC had 14 hits and defeated Bishop State 12-0 to even their record overall and in conference play.
JDCC scored three runs in the first and second inning and two in the third inning, and four in the fourth inning for the 12-run win.
Kayla McKnight picked up the win on the mound for JDCC. McKnight went two innings and allowed one hit and struck out three.
Carla Ray went two innings and walked one and struck out two and CaSandra Yarbrough went one inning and struck out two.
Allgood was 4-for-4 with four RBIs, two doubles and a triple.
Jessica Morris was 2-for-3 with a double and Payne was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Wilson was 1-for-2 with one RBI and Lauren Marshall was 1-for-2.
DeAndrea Dawson, Jenny Sanders, Haley Wilborn and Chelsey Hess were all 1-for-1 with Sanders and Hess both having an RBI each.
Kristin Myers added an RBI in the win.
The win was the fifth straight for JDCC.
Game one: JDCC 10, BSCC 0
JDCC scored runs in each of the first four innings and three pitchers for the Lady Warhawks combined for a perfect game as JDCC won 10-0.
JDCC scored one run in the first inning, two in the second inning, four in the third inning and three in the fourth inning.
Allgood was 1-for-2 and Dawson was 1-for-2. Duncan was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Myers was 1-for-1. Morris was 1-for-2 and Yarbrough added one RBI.
Payne added two RBIs and Wilson was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Game two: JDCC 21, BSCC 3
JDCC scored seven runs in the first inning and 11 runs in the fourth inning to help key a 21-3 win for their seventh straight win.
The win gave JDCC a 21-20 record and 9-7 in conference play. It was the first time JDCC was at or above .500 win percentage since the first games of the year at home against Central Alabama.
Kayla McKnight, Morris and Wilson combined for the win on the mound.
McKnight went two innings and allowed one hit and struck out four. Morris went two innings and allowed three hits and struck out two and Wilson went one inning and allowed two hits, three runs (none earned) and struck out none.
Allgood was 2-for-2 with four RBIs and Cahoon was 1-for-1.
Dawson was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Wilborn was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
Hess was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and Harris was 1-for-2.
Duncan was 1-for-2 with one RBI and Denney was 1-for-4 with two RBIs. Myers was 1-for-2 with one RBI and Morris was 2-for-4 with one RBI. Yarbrough was 1-for-1 and Payne was 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Wilson was 2-for-2 with one RBI and Lawrence was 1-for-2 with one RBI in the win for JDCC.
