Drivers who use the Green Street and St. Joseph Avenue crossing have been forced to find another route this week as CSX officials worked to complete repairs at the intersection crossing.
Work on the crossing began Tuesday, however, no completition date has been given by CSX officials.
Danny Howard, supervisor of Brewton City Public Words department, said officials with CSX have not given a specific day for expected completion.
Officials said the crossing will decrease the rise from the street to the tracks and will make a smoother transition over the tracks at the Green Street and St. Joseph Avenue crossing.
CSX has also been working on other crossings in and around the Brewton area. The Cook Road and Jones Road crossings were also included in the schedule for routine upgrades and/or maintenance. That work was completed in quick succession last week.
