Although final plans for the new Brewton Middle School have yet to be submitted for state approval, Brewton City School officials are making current plans public.
In an effort to gain public input concerning the building project scheduled for later this year, Brewton City School Board members will host a gathering to allow public viewing of drawings and plans for the school at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, in the current middle school media center.
Smith also said getting input from community leaders as well as parents will give officials an opportunity to consider options.
Smith said one of the issues that has not been finalized is determining where entrances and exits to the property will be located. The school system has to have approval from the Alabama Department of Transportatin.
After all changes and considerations are made, final drawings will be submitted to the Alabama Department of Education for final approval, Smith said.
Plans and drawings by architects McKee and Associates of Montgomery will be on display at the public meeting.
