After having their games on Friday postponed to swine flu outbreaks in the state, T.R. Miller softball players will again have to wait to play the class 3A area 1 softball tournament today.
With one out recorded in the top of the first inning in the T.R. Miller and Bayside Academy game, the rains fell from the sky onto the field at the Brewton Area YMCA  Sports Park and cancelled Tuesday’s games.
T.R. Miller is the No. 1 seed in the tournament with a perfect 6-0 record and Cottage Hill is the No. 2 seed.
Currently, T.R. Miller is 19-6 overall.
The Lady Tigers began the season with an 18-2 record before dropping four straight games in the Spanish Fort tournament to fall to 18-6.
T.R. Miller defeated J.U. Blacksher to end their regular season with a win and a 19-6 record.
The class 3A area tournament was set to be played on Friday in Brewton, but the AHSAA cancelled all games in the state until Tuesday.
W.S. Neal’s Lady Eagle softball was set to have played in the class 4A area 1 softball tournament on Tuesday as well in Mobile.
The Lady Eagles were the No. 3 team in the area and UMS-Wright was the No. 1 seed, followed by Jackson at No. 2 and B.C. Rain was the No. 4 seed.
As of press time, no results were known or if the games were played.
