The T.R. Miller boys track team racked up 140 points to Winfield’s 80 to capture their sixth state championship in track and field Friday in Gulf Shores.
The win was the first  title for T.R. Miller since winning the state championship in 2006 in 3A. T.R. Miller has won four track state championships in 3A and two in 4A since 1991.
T.R. Miller’s Lady Tiger track team picked up the class 3A runner-up spot with 81 points. The Lady Tigers trailed Altamont by 14 points to win the second place finish.
This is the second state title for T.R. Miller this year; the girls basketball team won the state championship in March.
