‘Q’-ing it up|Barksdale pitches and hits Sox to win

For the third time this season, East Brewton Little League has seen a no-hitter as the White Sox defeated Flomaton 18-1.
The White Sox pitching duo of Quantae Barksdale and Rob Jones combined to no-hit Flomaton while striking out 12, walking four and allowing one run as the White Sox won by 17.
Not only did the White Sox’s Barksdale help key the win on the mound, but also he provided some firepower at the plate, as he was 4-for-5 with three runs scored as he hit for the cycle.
Barksdale, whose nickname is Q, had a single, a double, a triple and a homerun in the win lead at the plate.
Zack Williams followed with a 2-for-4 day at the plate and Michael Williams was 3-for-4.
Dylan Simmons and Tristan Fore were both 1-for-4 and Jones and Taylor Elliott were both 2-for-3 with Robin Swift going 1-for-3 in the win.
Red Sox 7, A’s 5
In 9-and 10-year-old action, the Red Sox defeated the A’s 7-5 Thursday night.
The A’s out hit the Red Sox 7-3 in the loss, but the Red Sox picked up the win.
For the Red Sox, Conner Huskey and Patrick Lovelace were both 1-for-3 with Huskey having a triple in the win.
Logan Fore was 1-for-1 at the plate.
Blake McGraw and Brandon Moye pitched in the win for the Red Sox. McGraw allowed six hits, three runs and three walks and struck out five.
Moye allowed one hit and two runs.
For the A’s, Marcus Simmons and Matt Hutchins were both 2-for-3 at the plate and Harley Fuqua and Duane Hamby were 1-for-3. Devin Parker was 1-for-2 in the loss.
Hutchins, Hamby and Keith Barksdale all pitched for the A’s. Hutchings allowed two hits, three runs, three walks and struck out eight.
Barksdale allowed one hits, four runs and four walks and struck out one and Hamby allowed one walk and struck out one.
Flomaton One 6, Cubs 4
Despite both teams combining four three total hits, the Flomaton One team defeated the Cubs 6-4.
Brandon Burch had the lone hit for the Cubs, as he was 1-for-3 at the plate.
Trey English and Weston Riddle pitched for the Cubs in the loss.
English allowed one hit, six runs, seven walks and struck out seven and Riddle allowed one hit, two walks and struck out six without allowing a run.
Flomaton Two 19, Cardinals 3
Flomaton Two picked up a 16-run win over the Cardinals in recent East Brewton Little League action.
The Cardinals only had two hits in the loss. Quinn Riley and Jordan Madden were both 1-for-1 with doubles in the loss.
Hunter Revel, Jeremy Sims, Jacolby Hawthorne, and Riley pitched for the Cardinals.
The quartet of pitching allowed 10 hits, 19 runs, 18 walks and struck out four.
Brewton A’s 12, Flomaton 2
The Brewton A’s 10-run ruled Flomaton 12-2 to get a win in interleague play.
Brooks Brown was 2-for-4 with a double in the win and Todd Mayo and Tyler Reid were both 1-for-4.
Trinn Miller was 2-for-2 and Kellyn Wynn was 1-for-2. Ethan Bollenbacker and Marcel Marshall were both 1-for-1 in the win.
Reid and Miller combined for the win. Reid allowed two hits, one run and struck out three and Miller allowed three hits, one run, one walk and struck out one.
EB Yankees 5, Brewton Phillies 2
The East Brewton Yankees knocked off the undefeated Phillies 5-2 in interleague play to get the win in recent action.
Tyler Joyner and Justin Sessions combined for the win on the mound for the Yankees as they held the Phillies to only three hits.
Joyner allowed one hit, one run and struck out five and Sessions allowed two hits, one run, one walk and struck out three.
Joyner was 2-for-2 in the win and Dalton Shell and Lane Chavers were 1-for-2.
Malcolm Hawthorne and Colton Young were 1-for-1 and Miles Powell, Logan Allen and Alex O’Keane were all 1-for-3.
For the Phillies, James Peach, Kyle Davis and Jones Manning all pitched in the loss. Manning was 1-for-3 at the plate with a double and Peach and Lowell Swain were 1-for-2.
Girls’ softball: Mustangs 17, Divas 9
The East Brewton Mustangs picked up a 17-9 win over the Divas in girls softball action Friday night.
The Mustangs were led by Haleigh Dubose at the plate with a 3-for-4 day and a double. Kiki Floyd was 2-for-4 and Kaeli Brown was 2-for-3 while Tori Wyatt was 2-for-2.
Dubose and Wyatt combined for the win on the mound for the Mustangs as they allowed nine runs, four hits, 11 walks and struck out nine.
For the Divas, Da’Maiya Barton was 2-for-2 with and inside-the-park homerun and Adria Barnett was 1-for-3. Tiffany Robinson was 1-for-2 in the loss.
Barnett and Karissa Johnson pitched in the loss for the Divas.
Flomaton 15, Divas 6
Alexis Morrison was 1-for-2 for the Divas and had the lone hit as Flomaton defeated the Divas 15-6.
Adria Barnett and Kristan Tidwell held Flomaton to only three hits on the mound but suffered the loss.
Barnett allowed one hit, eight runs, eight walks and struck out one while Tidwell allowed two hits, seven runs, seven walks and struck out two.
The Divas had three errors to Flomaton’s two in the loss.
Flomaton 15, Mustangs 4
Flomaton held the Mustangs to only three hits as they picked up a 15-4 win.
Brittany Lucas was 1-for-2 along with Kaeli Brown. Destiny Reed was 1-for-1 with a double in the loss.
Lucas and Kiki Floyd pitched for the Mustangs.
Lucas allowed 13 runs, 10 hits, walked seven and struck out none and Floyd allowed two runs and one walk in the loss.
