Yankees suffer first loss in EBLL

With the East Brewton Little League season inching closer and closer each game to the end of the season, the year is still seeing some good games.
On Monday in action, the A’s picked up a win over Flomaton One and the Red Sox defeated the Cardinals 18-4.
Flomaton Two picked up a 22-2 win over the Cubs and the Yankees defeated Flomaton 21-1.
The big win for the Yankees over Flomaton came days after the White Sox shocked the East Brewton Little Leaguers with a 4-1 win over the Yankees handing them their first loss of the season.
A’s 9, Flomaton One 7
In a 9-7 win for the A’s over Flomaton, the A’s overcame three errors in the game to win by two.
Matt Hutchins and Keith Barksdale combined for the win on the mound for the A’s. Hutchins allowed one run on five hits, walked three and struck out five. Barksdale allowed one hit, one runs, one walk and struck out two.
Harley Fuqua was 3-for-3 at the plate and Marcus Simmons was 2-for-3 with a triple.
Duane Hamby added a triple in the win and was 1-for-3 along with Keith Barksdale. Bryson Brown was 1-for-2 and Caleb Kaylor was 1-for-1.
Red Sox 18, Cardinals 4
Blake McGraw picked up the win on the mound for the Red Sox allowing four runs on five hits, walking two and striking out six as the Red Sox defeated the Cardinals 18-4.
McGraw, along with the win on the mound, was 2-for-2 at the plate with a double and Brandon Moye was 1-for-2.
Trever Williams was 1-for-2 and Conner Huskey and Christopher Lowery were both 1-for-1.
For the Cardinals, Jeremy Sims, Jordan Madden, Hunter Revel and Jacolby Hawthorne took the loss on the mound.
Derrick Barton was 2-for-2 with an inside-the-park homerun and Tyler Williams, Sims and Madden were all 1-for-2.
Flomaton Two 22, Cubs 2
The Cubs were held to just two hits while Flomaton Two pounded out 17 and scored 22 runs to win by 20.
Ryley Fore, Tyshaun Davis, Tucker Davenport and Trey English all pitched in the loss for the Cubs.
Davis was 1-for-2 with an inside-the-park homerun and English was 1-for-1 in the loss.
Yankees 21, Flomaton 1
Miles Powell and Dalton Shell combined for a two-hitter and held Flomaton to one run as the easily defeated Flomaton 21-1.
The Yankees totaled 18 hits in the win.
Powell struck out two in the win and Shell allowed one run, two hits and struck out three.
Eleven Yankees had hits in the win with Malcolm Hawthorne going 3-for-3 with two doubles.
Justin Sessions was 3-for-4 with two doubles and Powell was 2-for-3 with a triple.
Nicholas Glass was 1-for-4 and Logan Allen was 2-for-3. Alex O’Keane was 1-for-3 and Dalton Shell was 1-for-4 with a double.
Tyler Joyner was 1-for-2 with a double and Brandon Robinson was 2-for-2. Colton Morris and Lane Chavers were both 1-for-1.
Flomaton Two 13, A’s 2
Flomaton Two plated 13 runs and held the A’s to only two runs as they picked up an 11-run win.
Matt Hutchins and Harley Fuqua were both 1-for-3 with Hutchins having a triple and Cameron Phillips was 1-for-2.
Devin Parker, Hutchins, Keith Barksdale and Fuqua pitched in the loss for the A’s.
White Sox 4, Yankees 1
The White Sox handed the Yankees their first loss of the season Friday night with a 4-1 win over the previous undefeated Yankees.
Quantae Barksdale and Rob Jones held the Yankees to only three hits in the mound on the mound.
Barksdale allowed three hits, one run, walked six and struck out nine while Jones struck out three.
Michael Williams was 1-for-2 along with Taylor Elliott in the win.
For the Yankees, Tyler Joyner and Miles Powell took the loss. Joyner allowed two hits, four runs, three walks and struck out eight as Powell struck out one.
Malcolm Hawthorne was 1-for-2 and Joyner was 1-for-3 in the loss while Justin Sessions was 1-for-1.
Girls softball: Mustangs 7, Divas 4
In girls softball action, the Mustangs defeated the Divas 7-4.
Haleigh Joyner picked up the win on the mound for the Mustangs. Joyner went the complete game and allowed four runs, four hits, nine walks and stuck out two.
Kiki Floyd and Haleigh Dubose were both 2-for-2 in the win and Brittany Lucas, Reagan Strength and Taylor McGraw were both 1-for-1.
Adria Barnett took the loss for the Divas allowing seven hits, seven runs, seven walks and struck out three.
Katlyn Day was 1-for-1 and Damiya Barton was 1-for-3 in the loss. Heather Redash and Adria Barnett were both 1-for-2.
A’s 3, Cubs 1
Duane Hamby picked up the win on the mound and Keith Barksdale picked up the save as the duo combined for another East Brewton no-hitter as they defeated the Cubs 3-1.
Hamby allowed one run, five walks and struck out seven in the win and Barksdale struck out two.
Matt Hutchins was 2-for-3 and Marcus Simmons was 2-for-2 in the win. Barksdale was 1-for-2 at the plate for the A’s/
Weston Riddle took the loss for the Cubs and Christopher Martin pitched in the loss. Traveus English scored the lone Cubs run.
Cardinals 6, Flomaton One 5
The Cardinals held Flomaton One to only two hits, but had to hold on for a 6-5 one-run win.
Jeremy Sims picked up the win mound on the mound allowing one run, one walks and struck out two.
Quinn Riley and Hunter Revel also pitched in the win of the Cardinals.
At the plate, Derrick Barton, Jordan Madden, and Quinn Riley were all 1-for-2 with Madden having a double.
Jacolby Hawthorne was 1-for-1 and Tyler Williams was 2-for-2. Adam Jerkins was 1-for-1 in the win for the Cardinals.
Cubs 13, Cardinals 11
In a game that saw 24 combined runs, the Cubs won 13-11 over the Cardinals.
Tyshawn Davis picked up the win on the mound for the Cubs allowing no hits, six runs, seven walks and struck out four.
Davis was 3-for-3 at the plate with a triple and Brandon Burch was 1-for-2. Jason Prescod was 1-for-1.
Jordan Madden suffered the loss on the mound for the Cardinals allowing four hits, 10 runs, eight walks and two strikeouts.
Quinn Riley was 1-for-2 with an inside-the-park homerun. Jeremy Sims was 1-for-2 and Jordan Madden was 1-for-1.
Flomaton One 6, Red Sox 3
Both teams had three hits each, but Flomaton One defeated the Red Sox 6-3.
Conner Huskey took the loss on the mound for the Red Sox. Huskey allowed two hits, three runs, five walks and struck out nine.
Brandon Moye was 1-for-3 and Blake McGraw and Logan Fore were both 1-for-2 in the loss.
